  • Summary

    Dime seeks a Staff Auditor who is a self-motivated, strategic thinker, innovative, and team player professional with a minimum 2-4 years’ experience in public accounting or with financial services experience.  Reporting to an Internal Audit Manager, the Staff Auditor will assist in performing independent engagement-level assessments of Dime’s governance, risk management and internal controls and performing assigned audits through all phases of the engagement.  The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of various community and commercial banking processes including accounting, lending, consumer compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, and deposit operations.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Performs financial, operational and compliance audits based upon audit program.
    • Prepares audit working papers for completeness and to ensure audit program was executed in accordance with the audit plan.
    • Discusses audits comments with Audit Management.
    • Performs SOX testing.
    • Documents appropriate controls utilizing matrices, narratives, flowcharts and internal control questionnaires.
    • Assists in monitoring exceptions for satisfactory resolution and validations.
    • Suggests changes in auditing procedures and updates programs to Internal Audit Managers, based upon audits.
    • Demonstrates professionalism with all interactions within the department, Bank staff, and with third parties.
    • Assigned additional responsibilities to assist the department in meeting its goals as necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting major preferred).
    • Progression to achieving CPA/CIA or other relevant professional certifications.
    • Minimum 2-4 years’ in public accounting or with financial services internal audit experience.
    • Knowledge of SOX Section 404 Controls and COSO Internal Control Framework.
    • Effective oral and written skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
