  • Summary

    The Business Development Relationship Manager position is responsible for sourcing low cost deposits and a variety of commercial loans by onboarding an existing, portable book of business, deepening existing client relationships and acquiring new commercial relationships. Other responsibilities include liaising with branch staff to answer questions during the lending process.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Effectively acquire, manage and grow profitable account relationships with an extensive percentage of moderately complex and medium-sized business customers with annual gross sales between $5 million and $20 million.
    • Responsible for generating and managing a commercial portfolio. The portfolio should have an emphasis on generating loans, deposits and other bank-related products to drive profitability.
    • Develop and sell cash management products, including account analysis, lock box, perfect pay, etc.
    • Develop a business plan to attract new business accounts, as well as deepen existing business relationships.
    • Drive sales and bridge gap to service.
    • Partner with clients and assist with meeting their financial objectives
    • Effectively partner with branches and other lines of business to deliver the full complement of Dime’s products and services.
    • Educate branch teams about Business Banking products and services.
    • Meet with clients and prospects regularly. Interview and analyze the financial structure of clients and prospects and identify appropriate products and services.
    • Build effective relationships with Centers of Influence.
    • Be involved in the conversion to FISERV and assure that Dime takes maximum advantage of business account products available through FISERV.

     

    Qualifications

    • Extensive Centers of Influence network; existing book of business.
    • Minimum of 10+ years’ commercial banking experience in branch banking management and servicing of business account relationships.
    • Knowledge of bank cash management services and products.
    • Experience developing business account relationships.
    • Ability to manage individuals servicing a diverse portfolio of businesses with account and cash management products.
    • Strong customer focus; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work with lending staff to maximize the profitability of business relationships.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills; strong problem solving skills; strong ability to grasp concepts and processes.
